Prior to founding BlackTusk Business Solutions, Stephen was the Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategic Partnerships for Mitel, a global provider of voice, video and data solutions. He was instrumental in re-inventing Mitel by creating a number of Software as a Service (SaaS) initiatives for Mitel, including software channel partner ecosystem development that ultimately drove over 50% of Mitel's revenues. Stephen also introduced Mitel’s first lead generation and digital marketing strategy, a leading factor in the 30%+ CAGR Mitel's software applications posted.

Stephen's leadership on Mitel’s corporate development led to strategic partnerships with industry leaders VMware®, Sun Microsystems®, Oracle®, Microsoft® Google® and Blackberry® to deliver best-of-breed communications solutions. He also created and developed Mitel’s virtualization strategy, bringing the industry's first virtual voice solution to market and generating over $60M in Mitel annual sales. This virtualization strategy continues to be the major differentiator for Mitel.

With his experience in building corporate partnerships, Stephen then lead the Mergers & Acquisitions division of Mitel where he was responsible for the successful $10M+ divestiture of a non-strategic division. He was also instrumental in the acquisition of several strategic assets that built both customer and shareholder value for Mitel.

Stephen is an active Entrepreneur In Residence (EIR) at Launch Lab (, a startup accelerator in Eastern Ontario. At Launch Lab, he provides strategic business advice to executives within the retail, food, technology, healthcare and financial industry. In this capacity, Stephen leverages his business network to assist in strategic marketing and partnering advice.

Prior to his tenure at Mitel, Stephen served as director of marketing at Tropic Networks®, a supplier of metro-area optical networking equipment. Before that he was Director of global product marketing for the Alcatel® Broadband Access Product Line.

Stephen has an International MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and holds a patent in ROI Business Modeling. Stephen is a sought out speaker for many industry events and has published a number of business and technology white papers.
